Current Health and Hygiene Procedures (from 27/05/2020)

Guildford Osteopath Jenny Allan has put these measures in place to minimise infection risk.

  • Please cancel and do not attend your appointment if you have any COVID-19 symptoms (a high temperature, a new continuous cough, loss or change to your sense of smell or taste), if you have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 symptoms in the last 14 days, if you have been asked to self-isolate or if you have returned from abroad in the last 14 days.
  • Please only come to the Clinic at your appointment time. If you are early, please wait in your car or if you have arrived by another means of transport please phone. There is no longer a waiting area in the Clinic.
  • Please do not bring anything with you that you won’t need for the appointment. You may wish to bring your own clean towel for warmth and/or modesty during the treatment session as these are no longer provided.
  • The front door will be left open at your appointment time so the door knocker does not have to be used.
  • Please wash your hands on arrival and departure from the Clinic. Soap and paper towels are provided.
  • A disposable fluid resistant surgical face mask will be given to you, after you’ve washed your hands, to wear during the appointment.
  • Due to the close contact required during treatment, Jenny will be wearing medical grade personal protective equipment (PPE) (face mask, apron, gloves and eye protection). All are disposed of, or cleaned, in accordance with Public Health England advice. In addition, Jenny will be washing her hands between every client and on a regular basis throughout the day.
  • The Clinic will be cleaned thoroughly and disinfected between each client including any touched hard surfaces, the client chair, treatment table, waterproof pillows, payment machine, door handles, bathroom taps, toilet etc. The pillow cases and treatment table cover will be changed after each client. Laundry is washed daily at a high temperature. The carpet will be steam cleaned and the Clinic ventilated for 20 minutes between each client.
  • Please pay by debit/credit card if possible, to avoid the need to handle cash.
  • You are welcome to phone for advice on your complaint. Online consultations for new and returning clients are still available.

Guildford Osteopath Jenny Allan is taking every precaution in the Clinic to limit your exposure to COVID-19 but cannot guarantee that there is no risk as a result of you attending for treatment. Your verbal consent to treatment will be requested and recorded in your Clinic notes.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding Clinic health and hygiene procedures please do not hesitate to ask.

Modesty

Osteopathy relies on the accurate observation and assessment of the whole human frame. As such, clients are usually requested to remove clothing to permit this observation particularly during the initial consultation visit. At subsequent visits care is taken to ask you only to undress as far as necessary to permit the treatment to proceed. If you feel ill at ease with the extent to which you are asked to undress, please let Jenny know; she will always respect a request for modesty and can work within your personal preference. Should you feel more comfortable in the presence of a friend or relative, this is also possible.
Complaints Procedure
Jenny trusts that your experiences will fully match your expectations of our communication and consultation. In the event that you are unhappy about any aspect of the service, or your response to treatment, Jenny requests that you contact her at the earliest opportunity to discuss your concerns. She welcomes contact by phone, email or letter (see Contact Details page). Phone calls cannot always be dealt with immediately, especially in the interests of client confidentiality should there be another client in the clinic room. Jenny will respond to all communications as soon as possible.
