What will happen at the first consultation?              How many treatments will I need?
A full medical history will be taken and an examination conducted. You will be requested to remove some of your clothing so that your posture and movement can be assessed. You may wish to bring/wear appropriate clothing such as leggings, track pants or cycling shorts.

A diagnosis will be made and discussed with you and a treatment plan and time frame for recovery proposed. Treatment may consist of a combination of techniques including soft tissue massage, muscle release techniques, gentle rhythmical stretches, articulation and manipulation of joints, and cranial osteopathy. Self-help advice may also be given.

The length of the treatment will depend upon your needs. The first consultation generally takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Subsequent appointments are generally 30 minutes.

The number of treatments varies from individual to individual. Most problems will begin to feel better after the first treatment. However, it is common for three or four treatments to be necessary to fully address the problem and its underlying causes.

It is Jenny’s policy to give as few treatments as required to resolve the condition. However, many of Jenny’s patients decide that they would like to see her periodically to have preventative treatments to avoid recurring problems.
How will I feel after a treatment?
In most cases, there will be a reduction in your symptoms after the first treatment. Some people may feel a little stiff and sore following treatment but this usually resolves within 24 hours. Jenny will advise on how to manage this at your consultation.
